grandma young

so sad, my mom lost her mom today.

93 years, yet we used to tease her that she would outlive us all. A good life, a happy life, lived well.

Kids, grandkids, great-grandkids scurrying cross-country to meet on short notice. She would have loved that we are all getting together in Utah. It's a shame she'll missed it--and by only a few days.

thank you for your kind words, I'm really going to miss her. I have to think of it more as a celebration of a good life, rather then the end.

I can only hope I make it to 93 with a sense of humor, the ability to do art and the love of a close family, as she has.

This past summer, she knitted two very special baby blankets for me--one for each of my firstborn grandchildren. She made the blankets early in case she wasn't able to meet them in person. Now, that's thinking ahead, my kids are only 15 and 17, lol!
