Sumo in the bushes
hiding from the dog, he found a place in the shade. Captured through the bubbletop viewfinder of an Ansco Rediflex with a Nikon D2H back.

miniature houses
when we're on vacation, Fred has grown accustomed to me shouting to stop the car. It can take hours longer to arrive at our final destination, than it should.
This place was well worth the stop. An entire block of miniature model homes, Wallenpaupack lakeside homes I suppose, built sometime in the early 1980's, several of them enveloped in ivy.

girl with toy
I met Jackie while she waited for her parents, and I waited for my husband at a roadside antique market. She told me all about her weekend vacation adventure. I told her all about mine.

sugar plums
When I spotted this old Lustreware bowl on vacation in the Pononos and I knew it was destined to belong to me. I packed in carefully in the trunk.
We stopped at a farmer's market on the drive home. Sugar Plums, the farmer explained were very sweet yet had a short 3 week season in Pennsylvania.
I bought them under the guise of eating, but really all I could imagine was pairing them with my new bowl. Both were the first thing I unpacked when we got home this afternoon.

It's zucchini season in Yardley, so we invited our local congressman to judge who had the fastest zucchini racer. Small town America!

purple onions
The lady at the farmer's market insisted I would prefer these purple onions to the regular white ones. She was right.

peach salsa
The farmer packing up my bushel of peaches suggested I try the tamillos with it. A peach salsa he explained. I must have looked skeptical because he tossed a few of these odd looking green fruits into my bag without charging me for them. He must have known once I tried it, that I'd be back for more next Thursday.

bed side clock
Fred gets up at 3:45am every day to catch the 5:01 train to Manhattan. I don't even have a clock on my bedside table.
